Dee-Dee never felt loved or accepted by her parents, her family, or the children from school due to the constant mocking, bullying, and just plain hatred of her simply because of her skin color. She did not fit in with either race-too white to be black and too black to be white.
The drama and abuse continued into her adulthood with her romantic relationships, from boyfriends to her husband.
This is Dee-Dee's story: a mulatto girl fighting for survival and acceptance.
