is a liar. Charming and manipulative, he's the leader of his group of friends: Violet, his childhood best friend; Reese, his college drinking buddy; and Felicity, Reese's girlfriend that Will is secretly sleeping with.
After the end of his junior year of college, the four friends, plus newcomer Sebastian, all go out for drinks to celebrate finals being over. After a rowdy night of partying, Will drives drunk and gets into a head-on collision with another driver named Mr. Lambert. In a panic, Will makes the decision to leave the injured man on the side of the road instead of doing the right thing and calling the police. To cover up what he's done, Will lies and exploits everyone around him to hide his secret.
Things grow complicated when Will starts receiving cryptic text messages from an unknown number threatening to turn him in.
Trust is shattered and paranoia grows, and the once-solid group breaks into fractures when Mr. Lambert is murdered. As Will tries to figure out who killed him, he is faced with the reality that a group of five is a crowd. As everyone grows tired of his lies, he finds himself pushed to the outside of the group that he was once in charge of.
Will has to decide if protecting his secret is worth hurting everyone he cares about. When secrets are revealed, he's faced with the ultimate decision: continue lying because it's easy or tell the truth because it's right.
But can you ever trust a liar?
