The non-profit education project Story Time From Space (STFS) selected the book and arranged for its launch to the International Space Station (ISS) and its subsequent reading by an astronaut. Author Adrienne Romberger's hope is that this opportunity allows the story to reach more children and inspire them to follow their dreams. Ticket to Space is an excellent way to connect young children directly to space and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education in a very real way.
