Growing up in the islands, I was raised with love, and taught to love, our good days surely outweigh our bad days. We lived a good life. We did not see love through abuse, we did not see love through mental hurt. So, this was new to me. To be beaten, called out of your name, and go through so much just to survive was more than I expected. It's never easy, breathe knowing that you are a survivor, you are not alone, you can live and find love again, you can trust again.
HEELED HEARTS, not misspelled, is how I represent myself each day. So, wear your heels every opportunity you get, to remind yourself that you are healed, you have survived, and you are breaking the bondage that has been holding you from being free. May the encouragement of the words, the poetry, and free writing, be a blessing to you as you heal your hurt.
