Dawn and Whitney Prackett have always lived in Bradleyville, like many of their neighbors and friends. One such young woman, Donna MacIntosh, is the daughter of illustrious lawyer Frank MacIntosh, Bradleyville's premier counselor and richest resident. Raised by her father alone since age 3, Donna believes her mother left years ago, wanting nothing to do with her or her father.

Coming into young adulthood, Donna, along with Dawn and Whitney, have the world at their feet and love around the corner. Dawn and Donna even have plans to become roommates during college and live in the large Victorian mansion owned by Frank.
