The author's point is to enlighten the reader's perspective on life. It is intentionally depicted to cause one to think about life and what it means to others. It offers the reader an opportunity to value life and realize the importance of mankind. The book opens one's thought process and allows one to honestly see the similarities in all human beings regardless of one's color, creed, culture, or religious beliefs.
Moreover, as human beings, people have experienced many conflicting views, opinions, and differences from other people. It is important to see the value and the opportunity to learn from these experiences of others, as opposed to passing prejudice or judgment on a person who doesn't look like you. If people could see others for the sake of humanity, hopefully change could occur and possibly help eliminate racism throughout the world. If people could see the benefits of learning how to connect with others and be willing to respect God's creations, it could make a difference in the world we live in today.
