Mothers are said to play one of the most significant influences in a child's life. Not only is she a monster squasher, nosepicker, and boo-boo kisser, but she is also a teacher, protector, and caretaker. Yes, mothers seem to do it all, but are moms perfect?
My Imperfect Mommy tells a warm-hearted tale about a little boy who wants his mother to be perfect. Through his journey, he is able to discover and appreciate that his mother has imperfections.
This is a feel-good book not only for a child but also for parents to show that you don't have to be perfect to be loved. With charming and colorful illustrations and a relatable tale, it helps preschool and elementary-aged children understand the role of a mother.
As psychiatrists, we wanted to create a children's story to address the concept of being perfect. A concept we feel many people, including ourselves, struggle with often. It has been both amazing and educational for both of us to view ourselves through the lens of our own children who see us as "perfect just the way you are."
We hope this book will be an inspiring and loving message to you and your child.
