This book describes 25 examples of old ways of leadership thinking, based on real life experiences, the results, and shows new ways of leadership thinking to turn it around. Words and actions are powerful. They can lift a person up or crush them flat. When you work in an organization for many years, you can't help but assimilate the organizations ways of thinking and being. This was my experience in my 32-year career. You learned by observing your leaders. It's what you had to go on unless you were lucky to have an exceptional forward-thinking leader as mentor. My experience is, they are few and far between, because they have learned from observing their leaders. This is what people mean by a "work culture." The habits, behaviors, and traditions of leadership and how stuff gets done (or not) as a result. My goal is to gently and sometimes not so gently, nudge you out of past ways of thinking into a creative, collaborative future, where people will love to work for you. You will love that, too.
