During a childhood visit to the family cabin, Daniel Keene makes a grisly discovery on a neighbor's farm that continues to haunt him in the form of nightmares and a foreboding darkness.

Throughout college and medical school, Keene meets people who both reinforce his Christian faith and cause him to question it. In his attempts to explain the unexplainable, he risks losing the most important person in his life-Kaye.

Keene completes his residency and uses his special talents to heal his patients, but evil is working against him. Will he be able to save those he holds dear, as well as those he's never met?
