Jordan Lewis is a rebellious teen struggling with adolescence and his parents' impending divorce. Charlie Kalb, Jordan's grandfather, is a wily widower who never imagined he would end up alone and is less than thrilled to have found himself there.

Together, they go on the run and attempt to make the twelve-hundred-mile drive from Florida to the final baseball game at the original Yankee Stadium. While Jordan and Charlie each have their own reasons for wanting to run away, what neither of them knows is that they both have secret plans for when they finally make it to New York.

As this odd couple treks from the Sunshine State to the Empire State, they hilariously butt heads before ultimately learning about life, love, and each other. But, is what Jordan and Charlie discover enough to convince them to reconsider their original plans?
