A nice edition with all 7 N. C. Wyeth original illustrations.
The Mysterious Stranger is a novel by the American author Mark Twain that he worked on for a number of years between 1897 and 1908. This final version was published in 1916 after his death. The story takes place in 1590, where three boys, Theodor, Seppi, and Nikolaus, live relatively happy simple lives in a remote Austrian village called Eseldorf (German for "Assville" or "Donkeytown"). The story is narrated by Theodor, the village organist's son. This edition also contains three other Twain stories: "A Fable", "Hunting the Deceitful Turkey", and "The McWilliamses and the Burglar Alarm." The book also contains 7 N. C. Wyeth illustrations.
