I am on a quest to find stylish women’s clothing made in the USA.Â
After several weeks of searching online, it’s become an obsession
because there seem to be very few choices available. As an example, a
search for “American made clothing†on Google will result in plenty of
options for utility clothing, (mostly due to
government contracts), solid-colored tee’s or tee shirts with a red,
white and blue flag print, sweatshirts, chinos and the like. All a bit
too Americana or otherwise bland as bland gets. Â Not
exactly vogue!
This is disheartening for me because I want to support the U.S.
economy and am willing to pay more for goods that are made here. I
imagine that many others would as well. It would be a treat to have
that option as opposed to being duped by
scam sites that list goods that may or may not arrive from some
far-off fraudulent location.Â
So, what happened, why aren’t we popping out the goods?Â
Here are the clothing stores that I came across so far that are
actually producing and can be classified as American made. For the
purpose of this article, I am only referring to women’s apparel. I am
also asking for recommendations to add to this list so that we can
pass this information on to folks that are on a like-minded quest.Â
